Harmon Kardon, Yamaha, and Denon are all better value for money, have a better feature set, and are of superior quality in this price range. All Onkyos have heat issues. You're welcome.

When I think of value for the money, Denon always comes to mind..... nice.
Yeah, avforums does have a few Onkyos that overheat. That wouldn't stop me from buying, but I'd be sure to give it some breathing room.
HK, Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha... all good products. Better than that Sony or Pioneer you were looking at.
