This stuff drives me nuts. Weight is not the boogeyman - it's inches on your waist. Fit, athletic folks that cannot pinch an inch tip the phoneybaloney BodyMassIndex.
Instead of spending your dough on this scale, put the $50 toward a good pair of shoes for walking/running, and get a jump rope. Better yet, take a piece of paper, a pen, eat normally, and write down everything you eat for a one-week period. Now cut that in half, and drink a bit more water. You can run for an hour and burn 1000 calories, but a big mac just put 1200+ back on. Losing weight is cheap and easy if you watch what you eat -- even better if you add some strength training.
I'm so pissed at misinformation and misdirection I'm going to go eat a sandwich.

Sure #3, but weight can still be a good indicator. Suppose you didn't jog one week, the scale can show how much you've then gained in weight, or maybe gained in being more hydrated.
The thing to remember is to compare against your own weight, not somebody else's nor some chart that only seems to apply to people with no muscles.
As for measuring the waist, it can help though a lot of unfit people will lose an inch or more just by doing situps for a couple weeks with that not actually reducing fat so much as tightening the muscles so their gut isn't hanging out as far. You can usually tell well enough by whether the same pants or belt hole continues to fit.

This scale needs to have a maximum weight capacity of 800 pounds if Nuisance wants to use it.

Why are comments so spammy this week? I'd rather read about pencil enlargements then this 1st grade chatter going back and forth.

I hate to break it to you, No. 9, but this is actually one of the more helpful recent threads here, especially as it contains a couple of comments that relate to the product.
