I burned 3.1415926535 calories finding out this is an IDE drive just for those of you to lazy to find out for yourself.

If you don't have an available IDE connector rhis isn't for you. A DVD drive isn't going to perform any better on SATA. I prefer to keep my SATA connections I'm not using available for additional hard drives, which do perform faster on SATA.

Bought a similar LG burner..mine has LightScribe, but I don't really know if I would buy LightScribe again. It takes more using the LightScribe than burning a CD. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with my LG burner - LG makes good quality burners and this is a pretty good price.
