Unless it can play HD DVD and/or Blu-ray, there's no reason at all to get 3rd party software to play DVDs. Every operating system's media player can play them natively already.

I've found production dvds that play on VLC in Windows, but will not run on powerDVD for Windows.
The real main difference is that VLC is freeware, easy download, easy install, and it just works, compared to powerDVD which costs money, is huge, a pain to install, and it hides all kinds of snooping software onto your computer.
Since this listed on YesBuy as "OEM software", you can be sure that half of the features will only work for a 30 day trial period. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.

Look into ARCSOFT MEDIA THEATER,which I have.
Surprised me with it's features and by far beats WINDVD, and POWERDVD( latest editions) which I also use.

I think this software is under rated perhaps the company is not aggressive like WINDVD and POWERDVD in marketing and advertising.
Best it starts up quicker than WINDVD or POWERDVD.
