This is not a deal.

Over $0.17/GB hasn't been a deal since winter.

You can never go wrong with a Seagate

#7, I have the 320GB version of the 7200.10. It has been running great for the last 2 years. Although like all HDs I expect it to fail eventually.

BTW, the price is $130 not $110.

I've seen external drives with better price

#7 I have had a 7200.10 300GB drive die 4 times

I have 2 7200.10 and they are mounted internally with sufficient cooling. They heat up badly and drop out intermittently.

I love Seagate drives, but these are plain nasty. I'm thinking of RMA'ng them even though they're only several months old.

(BTW: made in China have any bearing?)

Anyone own one from this line? #11 I read one of your threads posted here: http://bensbargains.net/deal/72316/ mentioning the Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ would be a better choice. Any idea how it matches up to the 7200.11's?

#11, I am not claiming the 7200.10s are perfect. Just saying that mine is working (so far). I bought mine from a local store which has a great policy on HDs. If the drive fails within one year of purchase they will replace it with a new drive immediately. None of that refurbished crap. However, their HD prices are a lot higher than NewEgg.

BTW, did you have any cooling solution for the HDs that failed? I have a front case fan which blows air over the drive. That may help the drive last longer.

It seems like HD prices are dropping lately. May be time to upgrade my rig.
