Seriously. You MIGHT be able to get one at Costco or something for $50, but I doubt the womens will be gathering to hear you playing in that case.

Isn't the skill of the player a fairly important issue?
Eric sounds better on a Costco $50 guitar than any of you poseurs who spent ~$4000 on a Stratocaster just to strum your three chords.
That said, #2 probably cannot even strum 3 chords, given his proven lack of finger dexterity on the keyboard.
His point that a fake guitar with no strings doesn't make music is reasonable though.
To become a good musician takes practice, not an expensive instrument. So stop being a guitar snob and get your pick out.

One word: $50 used Squier Bullet. That's all you need. Import Fenders are actually quite good.
