Can anybody tell me what the quality of Philips stuff is these days? I don't see them in stores as much anymore.

I heard Apex was better. I dont see Apex anymore either.

Upconverting DVD players are getting cheaper and cheaper. Anyone actually own one of these? How's the quality?

I'v had my Phillips DVD player for about 6 mo. Holding up perfectly. ONly complaints are:
Not enought front pannel buttons to play a DVD (come on, make me find the remote?)
8.3 character names on MP3 tracks
Chokes with too many MP3's or folders in one directory.
