Realize that this is the sort of thing you're going to use once, digitize everything you have, and then work off the MP3's rather than the LP's. After that, it's going to be taking up space in the garage.

YMMV

May have to get one of these to convert dad's old jazz albums to MP3. Some of his collection isn't available on CD and it's pretty rara.

I have one. Works great. Been digitizing my LPs and it's been a trip down nostalgic lane.

My hi-fi set doesn't have a USB input. Is there somewhere I can buy a USB to RIAA converter?

Using this type of digitizing an LP collection is very time consuming, since you have to play each side of each LP. I have started it, but haven't gotten very far. I've done about 30 out of 500+ LP's. I use a Sony turntable with a pre amp built in that I connect directly to the sound card using an RCA to mini stereo plug adapter. Then I use Audio Cleaning Lab 10 to clean up the clicks and pops, insert the track markers (the automatic track marker works most of the time), and burn to CD. My only complaint is that the CD volume is rather low. It's a cheap way to rescue music you haven't heard in a while.

So summarizing all the posts, the best deal is to buy this and play all LPs and then return it for refund? I wonder what buy.com's return policy is? Smile
