8mb cache is pretty low.

If you wait a few days you can get 320GB with 16MB cache for $50 total.

I just bought one from Newegg yesterday at that price but today they raised the price by $10

with 500GB priced at $70 these days, why would people consider a $39 250GB?

To save $30? Achem, ghetto dogs it does say on the top.

Anyone ever heard of Unity Electronics before?

looks like counterfeit drives with no name reseller. and yes, if you don't store media on your hard drive, you only use a few few GB anyways. Why choose a smaller hard drive than larger? 1. quieter (less platters) 2. Less power consumption 3. cooler and thereby #4, probably more reliable (being cooler and quieter and using less power, etc). that's why.

Good deal if you're looking to build the cheapest system reasonably possible instead of a secondary bulk storage drive.

Anyone recall what the OEM Hitachi warranty is like lengthwise?
