slam - to dash, strike, knock, thrust, throw, slap down, etc., with violent and noisy impact.

Sounds like a terrible idea to slam any hard drives into this thing.

SATA DVD Burners should work with this too (since the ATA cmd set is similiar with HDDs)... but I've never seen anyone mention trying. Also, every HDD enclosure seems to support
Burners. anyone know of anyone tried plugging in a
SATA DVD Burner into one of these?

A DVD burner probably won't fit in here. You'd need a 5.25" enclosure... hard drives ar 3.5".
