So if I walk (around school for example) more than I run, are these shoes better? Not sure of the rule here...

If you are just walking around school, it probably doesn't matter a lot. Buy whatever you think looks nice.

#1, if you insist on both walking and running in the same pair of shoes, cross-trainers may be an acceptible compromise if they otherwise fit your feet including +- pronation.
