This is the upgraded F50fd, which is the best 12MP in its class. Screen size increased from 2.7" to 3.0". There are other software changes.

If you want 5X optical zoom and don't mind 2.7" LCD instead of 3" LCD, then you should take a look at F100fd.

I've been waiting for this guy to come out. Any reviews out on this yet?

Is there a reason a 3x zoom camera is going for $270 on sale? Is it just because they did an OK job cramming 12MP into a small camera? I guess if you have a real use for huge MP and have small pockets you might pay this. I don't really need to print things out in life size.

It's too new for any in depth reviews, however.

I don't think the review will be any different than the review for F50fd. The new Face Detection software won't make picture quality any better.

It's a very good camera. I have the F50fd which I bought for $150 after the $50 questionable rebate (which worked!). I took pictures at a recent wedding. Even those who had DSLR asked for the pictures I took.

$270 is hardly a deal when it retails $299.
