Similar to Nalgene bottles, except Nalgene bottles are now BP-A free.

BisPhenol-A, a chemical that may cause health problems. It's banned in the European Union. In the EU, chemicals are guilty until proven innocent; In the US, it's the other way around. Until you can prove that a chemical is toxic, it's ok to expose your population to it.
I prefer the EU's paradigm. Manufacturers will promptly perform safety testing in order to gain a market.
In the US, manufacturers won't do any safety testing, since there's no upside in it for them. Our paradigm would be more defensible if governments had significant budgets to perform safety testing (although, people are being exposed to the chemical in the meantime).

Nalgenes are AWESOME! These are probably just so-so. I've had off-brand bottles like this (from Target) and they weren't the greatest; in fact, they leaked all over the place. But hey, it's your money.

#3 says "I prefer the EU's paradigm." Be careful what you wish for. I'm told that *everything* is illegal unless it is specifically legalized. That would put the screws the old "pursuit of happiness" thing.

#5, you're an idiot. For you kids' sake, I hope you don't have any kids (as far as you know).

US firms have incentive to do safety testing. If they don't do due diligence and their product harms people, they'll be sued.

Get a stainless steel bottle and you'll be fine. Plastic bottles are also bad for bacteria collecting reasons.
