If you have a Discover cards and if you have $40 in Discover Card rewards, you can convert that into $50 off gift certificate from Sony Style. If you have $80 in rewards, you can convert that into $100 Sony Style gift certificate. Combine that with the Sony style credit card offer and you'll get a sweet deal.

a measly $100 for signing up for a credit card? The alaska airlines card and amex starwood cards have much better bonuses for first use.

#12, you're wrong. This 80gb model is basically the 40gb model with a bigger hd.

That is awkward that it won't play PS2 games. But it does only cost 300 with the Sony card. 200 less than the MGS PS3 I bought a few months back. Got to ask yourself. PS2 games or discount price?

errr right. Reason for dropping ps2 compatibility is because ps2 games require it's own chip to run. And that chip is expensive, so instead of charging customer 50-100 more for that they just decide to drop it. And it makes sense because people buy console for the game not the other way around. If you really want to play PS2 game just go and get a ps2. And stop saying something like there's ps2 and ps3 game you wanted to play. Most of the good ps2 games been around for quite a while, and you haven't play them yet, that mean you don't really want to play it anyways. Saying you will not buy PS3 because of ps2 compatible issue, is like saying Saying I’m not buying wii because it doesn’t support game cube, super nes, nes games.

Pretty good deal if you're willing to go through the credit run. One thing to remember if you do, save all the information off of the popup window after you're instantly approved. If you don't you will have to wait for the card in the mail. The sony site is complete garbage that way, I also realized how completely terrible their customer support is regarding the matter.
