Holy shit face deetection! no kidding....

very close to pulling trigger on this, but want to confirm HD video quality.... Anyone?

The HD video quality is decent...theres only one microphone and they seem to have put it on the top left side of the camera...basically where your left first-finger is supposed to go...but its not that big of a deal. Definitely gets the job done. I've recorded segments at concerts and they came out fine. The thing I kept in mind when deciding to buy this is that its a great POS camera with amazing zoom for its form factor. The HD video was more supplemental for me...great that its there...but its not the reason I'm getting it.

I have the tz3 and the video quality on it is great for a still camera. The sound is so so. I just took all our vacation footage and put it on dvd and was really impressed. I will sell this camera and buy the TZ5 for sure. I like shooting pics then switching to video without carrying two camera's . these will slip in my pocket and with the 10x zoom is pretty nice . the tz5 zooms while shooting video and that's my main reason for upgrading

Very tempted. Have been a Canon IS fan but this may be better. More compact if nothing else.
