I bought the DVP5990 from Philip outlet and the HDMI connector is not working. Try to contact their customer service by email and all it reply is say to call.

I called and they give me an RMA but I have to pay for the shipping back to them. This sux. I can't be sure they won't send me another defective.

I have used Philips RMA process. What you will get is another replacement which is refurbished, only 90 days warranty. Process takes at least 2 weeks.

But I am not sure if I'll get the same or dif defect back.

Seem like the HDMI only get activated if I put in some junk DVD first. Else the TV don't get any signal at all from the HDMI.

Costco do have the DVP5992 for $50. I should have bought that instead of paying $40 for this 5990 and now having to pay the shipping back to them... this sux.
