I got the older version (no SDHC) of this thumb reader. The caps fall off after awhile. I just use a rubber band to keep them both together.

the casing fell off on mine, but it actually fits better in my usb port without the bulky casing. just wrap it in duct tape.

i've seen a bunch of these on ebay for $2 as buy it now, i'd say it's probably better to get one of those than these ones.

I have 2 of the SD (non-HC) and 2 of the SDHC, all from previous Ben's deals and all from Meritline. They've all worked fine for me.

I've had one of these for over a year. Both caps are tucked away in a box somewhere -- if you try to keep them with the reader, they just fall off all of the time. They are a bacon, and they are pointless.

I have ordered several from Meritline, they all work fine. I keep one at each computer and carry one with my laptop. I have also given a couple away at work. They work OK. I wish the manufacturers would make them more narrow or extend them a bit further from the USB port. I also keep a 1 foot USB extender for those tight fits.

something is fishy at meritline. a little over a year ago i bought the clear sdhc reader (same description, different model #; 119-083-001, http://www.meritline.com/sdhc-card-reader-clear-c206a.html). what i bought looks like ben's picture (tail cap is connected to the main body, but clear instead of blue) and the picture at the url i give. but the link ben provides has a picture that doesn't look like ben's picture and instead looks exactly like the non-sdhc version i bought nearly 2 years ago from meritline (tail cap not connected to the main body, just like the front cap). so why all the inconsistency between ben's and meritline's picture and between the same product (in different colors) on meritline's own website.

oh well, i earlier noted this discrepancy and decided to go with dealextreme which has the exact sdhc product (down to the printing on the pcb) i previously purchased from meritline (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6858; assuming the multitude of pictures are correct) and for only $2.99 + free s/h (like meritline). the only downside of dealextreme is the randomness of the color, the 1 to 2 week shipping time (from hong kong), and the single payment option of paypal.

apart from this single instance, i've bought from both meritline and dealextreme and have been pleased with both.

I bought one of these from meritline about 10 months ago. Great product and it definitely works with SDHC. My only complaint is that the mini-usb cable it came with was defective and I wound up substituting my own instead of sending it back.

Just register to write the review. I received it as I believed the speed was up to 20MB/s (155x). I tested with my 18MB/s Sandisk Extreme III SDHC 4GB with it. and I got only 4.2 MB/s in the same environment. a piece of junk for me.

Do card readers like this require drivers? If so does anybody know if 64 bit drivers exist are provided for this reader?
