I believe the early reports of the s10 having x4500 graphics were mistaken.

I wish this had 1GB of ram, wireless N, bluetooth, and a decent SSD! Then I would really consider it.

Then it would cost twice as much.

I had this before. if u put in 2gb ram the onboard 512meg gets disabled. and you will get 2gb ram.

I will buy it again when it Bluetooth and six cellbattery

3cell battery and no BT won't cut it for me. but it's a nicely built, small and slick looking unit though.

#4, the EEE PC 901 has all those things and doesn't cost twice as much.

#10, it can't run Vista because it is too underpowered. XP only. Lenovo did not release a Linux version in the US. Microsoft in fact did drop XP for new systems back in June, but they decided to make an exception for netbooks (because they didn't want to cede the market to Linux, and because Vista isn't an option due to processing power.)

What's the big deal about Bluetooth? I have an EEE PC 901 which has Bluetooth, but I am currently not using it. What is the compelling function that people are using it for?

#13 you obviously don't get it and therefore explaining to you why we need BT would be a waste of effort. BT is critical!

I bought the lenovo s10 and installed 2GB memory. It runs great. Very nice little notebook.

    #12 is a tool

901 has a 8.9" screen and no ExpressCard slot. N270 and 1G of RAM is sufficient to run Vista, even with Aero enabled.

i read in s10 forum others have installed vista with aero and it runs. even if aero doesnt run there are tricks and hacks to enable it... i plan to install vista/linux when/if i get my netbook.

My bad. There are reports that the S10 can work with Vista. When I first got it, the reports were about how Vista required 512M-1GB RAM and 15GB free disk space. Netbooks do in fact meet the published minimum requirements for Vista.

I honestly believed that the reason Microsoft allowed netbooks to be the only new systems to ship with XP was because Vista wouldn't work and that they didn't want to cede the market to Linux. I was wrong. They must have kept XP shipping on the netbooks because they listened to their customers and wanted to give them greatest freedom of choice for operating systems.

Marketing and business reasons couldn't have had anything to do with it. Microsoft is a good company at heart. They just want to make everybody happy.
