    i hate the sony brand.

you're mainly paying extra for the name-brand and mediocre specs

Whatever. It's a great laptop. I hate Sony as much as the next guy but their form factor is best of class. Spend ~$75 extra to get 2GB of memory and this is a great travel laptop.

Apple is coming up with macbook for 800 bucks, it was pre-announced by 1.800baconmors- might as well wait for that,

Yea, that macbook wouldn't even have half the specs of this I bet. Then again, apple fanboys wouldn't buy an apple product unless it was a completely ripoff.

Apply for one more sony card and get $150 credit !!! Sony will send you a creepy USB root-kit in a aluminum can which they did to me when I bought PS3. Have fun.

    Retard Semens.

FACT: Sony makes the world's best laptops. I don't mind paying a couple of hundreds for reliablity.

I assume you're being sarcastic, but I'll say that the two Vaios I've used have been great and this model line is truly a pleasure to travel with.

I'd spend the extra $$$ on business vista, tho, and choose the Fresh Start options that take off all the bloatware that Sony puts on their consumer products.

I just bought a Sony VGN-NR498E 15.4 screen 3 GB ram, 250 GB SATA HD 2GHz Intel. for $650 at Circuit City. I've owned about 12 laptops in the last 15 years and this is the cheapest I've ever bought and it's the best I've ever bought. The only downside is the sound, could use more volume.

Have a lovely afternoon ditching the gigs of adware, rootkits and trialware packed onto your drive.

Sorry, false alarm. The coupon works after you plug in your credit card and billing info.
