Perhaps, #20, but I'd prefer they either left the 2nd one off and lower the price or just spend the extra money on 1 better graphics chip. Or couldn't they have just designed the better of the 2 chips to be easily underclocked through a simple software interface?

White (canadian b@cony-ass) MacBook is still around. Price cut to $999 or $899 for education. Mostly schools will keep buying these until they are discontinued. After that, no more plastic cases.

Jobs addressed Blu-Ray in the Q&A. Licensing is still a hassle and would drive up the cost of the laptop (thanks Sony!). You can always buy an external BD drive and use it. I say eliminate the optical drive completely. They're practically obsolete by the time you get them home.

Display port will be the new notebook standard, not HDMI.

DisplayPort is just another version of DVI. HDMI includes DVI *and* audio.

Apple needs to get with the times.. wtf? I guess I won't be ready for a new laptop for another few years, maybe they'll come to their senses by then.

My Mac gives me head every night before I go to sleep, I'd like to see your Dell do that.

In otherwords, Jobs can't get away with a 300% markup

Everyone is so quick to hate on these. Yes, they are expensive, but you get what you pay for: extremely light weight, .95in thick, next gen of nvidia mobile graphics, unique glass trackpad, LED backlit screen (not that common right now), and high-quality design.

Now if you don't want those thing, pay 300 less for Dell or HP.

I promise I will share your DisplayPort. And your cash too.

DisplayPort > HDMI for PC use.

Seriously though, those prices are not in tune with this economy.

I wonder if I can pay tax-free out of my dwindling 401k.

Lack of Firewire on the MacBook is a deal breaker and I'm a part-time Apple FanBoy. They pimped that tech and iMovie so hard and now they pull it? 99% of camcorders use Firewire and the others use those miniDVDs that won't work with a slot-loading drive. This is a C-.
