Is this product for those who are unaware of the free Shoutcast service and the like, or does this provide another benefit that I'm unaware of?

Perfect! Went to the site and downloaded the 'Driver' and the manual. This'll be the perfect thing for that useless 512mb usb drive that I was going to throw away.

What websites are available as an alternative to Aluratek AIRJ01F

BTY, # 4 is right, this is a ‘bit’ of a scam since the Aluratek AIRJ01F program displays advertisements. That’s a novel concept. You pay to view the useless ads.

#5, tried your idea, that doesn't work. Installer also doesn't provide an uninstaller so if anyone else tried that, now run:
regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\AIRJ01FPlayer.ocx /u
then delete that AIRJ01FPlayer.ocx file to uninstall.
regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\AIRJ01FPlayer.ocx /u
then delete that AIRJ01FPlayer.ocx file to uninstall.

Thanks for the 'heads up' #8; I was just getting ready to 'install' it.

I was actually dumb enough to buy one and try it (expected to give as a gift for friend's work computer). Came up with "license invalid" and all sorts of crap, never even saw anything resembling a way to view stations or listen to them. The steaming hunk of crap that this is goes back to buy.com, and shoutcast.com is what my friend will have to use.
In a world where "virtual" storage is all the norm, WTF is the point of carrying around a $30 thumbdrive containing bookmarks? Even if you can get it to work right, if you lose this "beautiful" pink thing, you lose all your bookmarks as well as all rights to use it.

| Funny how it doesn't install any software, but still installs stuff.

I guess with a name like buttmunch, you must be dumb.
I agree that this is a piece of crap deal.
