Linksys have successively re-engineered this router, peeling off the layers, to what we have now - a cheap and nasty piece of shit.

This is a solid router. If you install DD-WRT, it can be even better.

A few years ago routers were easy. Anybody ask, you just told um to buy a Linksys. Then Cisco bought out Linksys and its been a long slow slid down hill. Most of the Linksys stuff isn't much better than Netgear, D-Link etc. etc.

I don't care what's happened to the quality, it can't possibly be as bad as Netgear routers.

#3, I have the GS version. It's an okay router. I wanted to increase the range to reach my second floor bedroom and installed DD-WRT micro. It has become worse since. No improvement in range even when the Tx is pumped to 150 mw. It takes a longer for the clients to acquire the IP address. And frequently dropped connections... It may be just the equipment I have. Looking for ways to put the Linksys firmware back...don't know if it is possible...
