Canon cameras are awesome. I have an SD870, love it.
I would recommend that you check out the cashback special on eBay, you get 25% off whatever you buy.
Go to live.com, type in digital camera, then click the ad that says save 25% using cashback and ebay.
Then find the camera you want on ebay and there you go!

#9 although canon cameras can run CHDK it takes a looong time for them to port it, especially if you are running a camera that runs DryOS. I got my SD950 at the beginning of this year and a beta firmware wasn't released till 8/6/08.
