With no moving parts in the camera you never get noise.
Has a mic input and headphone output.
SDHC cards are dirt cheap right now and dumping them takes no time.
Comes with a program to watch the AVCHD format.
Threaded 37mm for cheap wide angle lens attachment, I got a used sony lens from b and H for 11 bucks.
Small, light.
Biggest con is that an extra battery costs like 60+ bucks, the OEM canon have some electronics built in for battery metering and such.
Cheap non-oem's can be had on Ebay but they cannot be charged on the camera (which is where OEM ones are charged), so you have to be a little careful.
We film a cable show with this camera and it has been full on outstanding.

8GB SDHC card = 1 hr highest resolution HD, standard battery only lasts 1 hr
