Even w/ low-energy LEDs, this thing will suck the life out of 4 AA in no time. You'll be at half brightness within minutes.

A single 3 watt LED will generate more light and pull less juice from your batteries. Don't waste your money on this.

Have any links for a good single LED flashlight that is 3+ watts?
