I like my 2.5 year old Garmin Nuvi. It tells me I should upgrade the maps, but I just click ok and haven't bothered to yet, I haven't had any problems with outdated maps.

I, on the other hand, have had problems with outdated maps on a refurb Garmin. But I don't feel like paying 75% of the cost of the unit to upgrade the map. Be sure to check the version on the refurbs!

I love how the prices of these continue to drop. I'm waiting for the voice detected GPS to get cheaper still...

I gave this as a present last Christmas and paid almost double thinking I got a good deal. It's a great unit, so I'd recommend not being tempted to spend $300 on one of the newer models.
