Outdated, but pretty good deal. #5, what specifically? I have had very few problems with Lenovos in the past.

For $100 more you can get a Thinkpad T61, Penryn 2.5GHz, 2 GB, 160GB 7200 RPM,14" . The price on Ebay is around $880 - $200 Live cash back(Ebay). It has 3 years warranty.

Quality of Lenovo drivers and utilities have gone down the toilet. Every one I had prior to the 6x series was rock solid, now I cross my fingers to keep my x61 running properly.

I have this though with lower cpu specs; its build quality is second to none compared to the Dell laptop my wife uses (bought last year).
As mentioned the hinges are very sturdy and the fit and finish is excellent (don't hear any plastic squeaking when picking it up or closing the lid as with the Dell).
Also the keyboard is very well layed out and very sturdy under typing. Dual Core is more than enough for business usage (spreadsheets, presentations, and email).
Yes the design is bland but you're looking at the screen to do your work and not the outer shell...

I think in their big book of best electronics Lenovos had a pretty good customer service and repair rating. Are they any good for games? I don't have $800 for a computer but I may be able to pull off $550.

I have a Lenovo 3000 c200 I got at Staples for $350 when Vista first came out and they were clearing the remaining XPs. After owning Dell and HP, I can say it is easily the best built, most stable laptop I've ever owned. Waiting for it to kick so I can get a newer model but it just never gives me any problems. The Dell was a POS right out of the box and I finally gave up trying to get anything resolved with them. The HP was a nice computer but the hinges broke a few months after the warranty expired and it cost just slightly less to get them fixed than to buy a new computer. I'll stick to Lenovo from here on out.
