Just make sure you have enough room to plug it in around your cup holders. It also makes an annoying hum for the person you're calling if you happen to plug your cell while talking.

#2 that hum is the gnome inside the dash of most modern cars now. He/She hums a tune that gets picked up by this device. If you ask nicely, he will stop while you make your calls.

I'd prefer to have a larger unit that can adequately cool itself. I think this would over heat quickly

These actually work pretty well. Make sure to order one that works with your favorite auto appliances, like the dishwasher or perhaps the Kitchen Aid mixer. Very good deal.

Are there any chances that this will do damage to a car? I have reservations about increasing the power of a cigarette lighter, but I also don't know anybody that uses these.

Has anybody used this exact one and can attest that it is safe to use?
