I dont really like the build quality on these laptops, the tx series that is. Very squeeky plastic display frame makes me kinda nervous when converting to tablet.

I've used this and the Fujitsu and I would have to say I like Fujitsu better, cause the touch screen is more responsive, but the screen on the this one seems more clear than the Fujitsu. I would wait till they release more LED touch screen to purchase them.I would say Fujitsu is one of the best tablets in the market. and I like a 13.1 screen cause I have a lot of room to work with.

I have this and don't see much issues with it but again I do not have any other tablet(s) to compare it with. Couple of things bother me - Glossy screen and looking at the screen when outside (like in backyard etc.)

Nice tablet for the money, I remember when these were around $1500 starting out.

This is actually quite a good deal if you need a tablet. If you don't specifically need the tablet form factor, however, you'd be better off to keep looking.

#8: Nothing wrong with AMD, I mean in a laptop all of those heating issues wont matter, cause the airflow is soo good.
But seriously I like AMD, but I wish they would come out with a really nice laptop processor, the atom seems great, where is the AMD equivalent? Because I hate to plug the laptop in and the power from AMD is nice, but it eats power, lots of power.

#9, this notebook runs REALLY hot. after 15-30 minutes, the bottom becomes too hot to place on my lap.

if you don't have a tablet/touch screen, it needs some time getting used to

I have always liked the look of this one but if I was going to buy it I would get the centrino version.

    1) It's not so hard to make it (Puma CPU) as power efficient as power Intel CPUs. Just work with the Vista settings and don't spend so much time for all these complains.
Don't forget that "Atom" is weak in numbers cranking.

    2) I'd love to have XP x64 drivers…

I have the tx1000. It is pretty good, in size that is. Tablet-wise, I don't use it too much.

When you are using the touch screen, the graphics card heat up faster. I don't know why. The whole system ends up hotter faster. I don't know if they fix it in tx2500z

My brother has one and it's so-so only. You may think that it's better than regular laptop but it's not. Battery life is so-so and speed is so-s0. I would spend the same money on a better faster laptop.

I don't have problems with this running hot. The only time it did I was doing my regular surfing/word processing and the anti-virus was going. For non intensive stuff compared to my old Inspiron this thing is much cooler.
About the display, I've never taken this out side, but I can see it having a lot of glare. The only thing I can't stand is that I have to recalibrate the pen all the time.

Cool tablet, but I don't think I would use it very much. So maybe not worth the extra costs...

Free 250GB is no longer an option

Lifebook U820 is a UMPC tablet for ~ 999, looks totally sweet (but mad $).
Can't comment on build quality of the tx's.
    I <3 umpc's
