this is a good GPS... has text to speech, which is important. i paid nearly $200 earlier this year so thats a good price

This is a pretty solid unit - you won't go wrong with it.

I just got a nuvi 200 (free with the Discover card deal). When I compare my older 350 to the 200, there's a lot of non-obvious (subtle) ways where the 350 is better than the 200. Just the way the menu's work, volume controls, satellite plot, more download-able voice accents, etc etc. That's apart from the obvious 'features' like text-to-speech.

It also comes with a leather case and both wall charger and car charger (the 200 only comes with car charger, no case).

Really good deal at this price - go for it!

Good GPS. I use it when traveling overseas; cheap international maps can be found that have been compiled and downloaded onto an SD card. Try ebay for them.

I'd say spring the extra $40 to get the 650 (bigger screen). Unless you are going for small.

    cnet reviewed this item:

    http://reviews.cnet.com/car-gps-navigation/garmin-nuvi-350/4505-3430_7-31518214.html

    The good:
The compact Garmin Nüvi 350 has a strong GPS receiver and includes lots of travel-friendly features.

    The bad:
The Garmin Nüvi 350 is expensive, and the traffic receiver and the travel-guide programs cost extra. The Nüvi also lacks an external volume control.

    The bottom line:
No bigger than a deck of cards, the Garmin Nüvi 350 is more than just another voice-guided GPS device, packing in travel tools, entertainment features, and good performance; just be prepared to pay a price.

Recently got this unit for $189, wish I waited a little longer. But I love it. Only conn I have with it, and maybe it's a problem with all GPS is that it can take several minutes sometimes to get a signal.

I agree with #9. Spend the extra $40 and get the Nuvi 650 instead.

    Is this unit refurbished?

Wow. I bought one of these back when they were $350. Granted, I probably didn't pay that much ... I've had mine for at least 2 years, and it has held up well. I don't miss the larger screen, personally, because the vocal directions are what sell the unit. Be careful with the suction mount - if you let it heat up a lot and then try to un-stick it, you will leave some rubber behind.

What a deal. This is an excellent GPS. Small enough to put in your pocket. The price was $350 last year.
