If you really want to go "deep into the most hostile environment of Africa", a plane ticket to Oakland or Atlanta might cost less than this game.

Opinions on whether the Xbox controller is acceptable, versus a standard keyboard/mouse on the PC version? I'm still looking for a game that gives me close to the same experience -- although I don't think that will ever happen.

the game is fun and has some nice features (like day/night, being able to start fires, used weapons with performance issues). it looks great on an HD tv. the map is huge, giving you a lot to explore.
my biggest complaint is that it takes a really long time to reload when you die (and I die a lot). It's a little annoying that outposts you clear always have fresh bad guys every time you return.
