Before you buy. Read the fine print.

Exactly what I was going to post. I've bought a few where it's simply not worth the price to try out the new restaurant even with the gift card.

i think restaurant.com is good as long as you don't click on any of the additional offers. my gf got charged 20 dollars for signing up for something when clicking on additional offers. i was worred so i kept checking my credit card bill every day but nothing has come up yet, and i didn't try clicking on additional offers.
has anyone had similar experiences?

Seems like most restaurants require at least a $35 minimum purchase to use the $25 certificates, but that's not a bad deal considering the certificate itself is only $3. I guess it also comes down to finding a good restaurant since most of them seem to be random places I've never heard of.

Even if your restaurant goes out of business, you can exchange your certificate for another restaurant. Actually, you can do that with no problem at any time for any reason. You just have to send an email requesting the exchange, it took less than fifteen minutes for me to exchange the certificate.
The real problem with the certificates is that they do not always save you much money because you have to spend more than you typically would to use them. For most restaurants you have to spend $35.00. If you only have two people, then you end up ordering an appetizer or something that typically you may have skipped. Still, $22.00 off of a $35.00 meal is a pretty good deal. Great way to branch out and try new things with little downside.

Agree with #6. Definitely worth a discount of $22 on a $35 meal. Read the fine print as some said, but different restaurants have different fine print. I've used these before and they're great if you like the restaurant and you only have to spend $35.

#3 - good catch!
They over charged me. Charged me 2x. when the deal was for the 60% off coupon. charged my credit card $8 instead of 4$. I am still working on getting back my $4. thank you!

They are good, but have to check the print and the conditions. I've had restaurants hate them, because they eat a good amount of the $25 themselves. I don't mind most of it, my wife and I use it and get a good deal.

I think I saw an 80% off before, but that's very rare. Just make sure you read the criterias on the side and check yelp before you buy the coupon. Some places are not worth going, even with the coupon.
