Three years ago I bought my mom a portable DVD player like this at Best Buy. It was small and not great (like thi sone) but it only cost $30 so I went for it.

You didn't buy anything like this for $30! I call complete BS on that. Not even the cheap ass photo frames are that cheap yet. 10.2" is what makes it spendy. Never heard of the brand.
