#3 If they're like most refurbed electrical items, no. That's the trade-off.

I got the 8gb one free from the Key bank promotion a few months ago. These are really slick devices, but not worth $200. Either get the iPhone, or a cheap MP3 player. This is the middle ground which is expensive, but doesn't have anywhere internet.

Still, for what it does - it's very cool. Just not $200 cool.

When you purchase a refurb from the Apple store the batt would be new. Can't see how Buy.com would pick them up from any other source, but who knows?

Has anyone found a refurbed iPhone?

Do not trust Buy.com refurbished. When the Apple store sells a refurbished product it is indistinguishable from new. But, through Buy.com, I've had scratched screens and so forth.

I think the Archos system is actually much nicer than the ipod touch, although a little more bulky it can do quite a bit more. The new Archos IMT's look really nice.

I agree with #6, not really worth the hype. Without a cellular data network the internet is very spotty on these even in dense areas.

Buy.com referbs suck, I know from a hideous first hand experience. Just got my money back from my credit card though.
