These Sansas are always highly rated for their price range.

    that's because they are good.

    this one isn't rockboxable yet.

The previous generation of Sansas were pretty buggy, but the current gen is much better. Definitely good bang for the buck, but the interface/software still lags far behind iPods.

NOPE Few available accessories, No output jack for video, proprietary connector plug, sometimes cannot copy files through WinXP explorer, comes with mediocre/cheap headphones

#4...cable is proprietary but for about $6 you can buy one that provides composite output (not sure I'd use it at 320x240 though).

AFAIK, nobody uses the headphones that come with a sub-$100 media player...maybe not even a sub-$400...

Good value, though the 8GB for $50 deal previously was even better if you don't mind slamming a microSDHC card into it.

I wonder if Apple will ever wake up and make something competitive, or will they keep letting the market slip away one sale at a time?
