this seems to be a better deal than Dell's Quad core PC.

of all the pc makers, hp just won't go away... says great things about the company as a whole. If I wasn't able to build my own i would buy a hp. Those touchsmart screens are pretty sweet eitherway.

I think Dell and HP hardware is a toss up anymore, only real diff is the amount of crapware HP throws on its pcs

Any comment on my assessment that $550 is a "fair" price for this system?

Coupon must be dead. I get the error "The coupon entered does not apply to the items in your shopping cart. Please review the coupon for products included in this offer." I've been trying since yesterday. Anybody else able to use the coupon still?
BTW, for bbsam, this was a PC Mag editor's choice in Sep at a much steeper price (including a blu-ray drive, but this is still cheaper if you add your own).

#7, my only beef with the system is the video card that's most likely replaced with better performance. Arrived at the $550 based on the Dell xps 530 (Q6600, integrated video) system that was on clearance for $411 at BestBuy a couple of month ago.

#7, coupon still works as of 11/20/2008. Just test it and it works.
