YesBuy.net has the Logisys 52-in-1 card reader writer (Black) for $11 + $0 shipping = $11 shipped. It supports most major flash formats, just cram it into that unused floppy bay and connect it to an internal USB 2.0 header. They report that it supports SDHC as well.

This extremely shitty card reader . I made the mistake to buy one , it was reading every format except the one I needed - regular SD card ...

Impossible! how could this not read the most popular format, SD?!
#5   zdea - Posted 5:00 pm PST 11/17/08 (20 Posts)
it does read sd, it just sucks in general... I put this into a friends gaming rig as it came free with the rest of the parts from new egg, trust me, it totally blows, if you don't get this for free don't bother. It delays boot times on some motherboards and is flimsy as hell. Also I think the issue with the SD cards is that since it's "52 in 1" and obviously there aren't 52 holes... the sd card slot is actually an upside down-other slot... which confuses people. Like I said... not worth it unless it's free.

Take up my unused floppy bay? What are they thinking!

Before I give up my 3.5" floppy bay, you'll have to pry my floppy drive out of my cold dead hands . right after you pull my 5.25" floppy drive out of my clenched butt cheeks.

My doesn't read 8GB SDHC from Crucial. Otherwise, it works fine. Like #5 said, it reads SD card upside down.

I heard this reader is compatible with many other kinds HC cards but not on SDHC.

52 is way overkill, but I'll take it for this price!

Mine works fine, haven't tried it on SDHC, though. Not exactly top quality, but does the job just fine for me.

I got one and it's only worked for 1 day

I'm waiting patiently for this to drop back down to $9.99. I have this in one of my systems, and it works great. Waiting to put one in my HTPC.

Does this reader show up as 4 extra drives under window explorer once you plug it in?
#18   AKevin - Posted 7:23 am PST 11/18/08 (63 Posts)
Yes, #17, and it does read SDHC.
