I would accept membership of a men's golf club where they use Cougars.

i actually saw the head fly off on one of these things before. i'd check the local coscto for an entry-level golf set.

They don't yell. They don't tell. There is no wedding bell.

Better yet, go hit your local golf galaxy (or golf equipment retailer). Talk to the salespeople, try out some sets and see if you can't get a good used set. Picked up a set of Mizuno irons for $200 that were a year old, normally $900. You can then trade those clubs back in when you're ready to upgrade.

these are walMart clubs. Not worth it. get some knock offs from a local golf club maker.

I for one wouldn't mind owning a set of cougars... if I didn't have a real set of clubs.

Garbage. For slightly more you can get a MUCH nicer used set. I back #6 all the way to the driving range. This is equivalent to buying a $500 car: You're asking for failure.

Good starter set for the price.
