Check the laws of your state too. The certificates are good for two years from the date of purchase, depending on the state law. In Massachusetts, these certificates are actually good for seven years. I've also found that customer service has been great. Whenever a restaurant drops out of the program and no longer accepts the certificates, Restaurant.com has always credited my account so that I can exchange the old certificate for a new one.

I got one of these for Christmast a few years ago and it was a lot of hassle to use it but it has been awhile so maybe it is easier now.

I used one of the certificates for the first time this weekend. It worked out very well. Just be careful of the conditions mentioned for each restaurant. You also need to mention that you have a certificate before you order and the restaurant will check your certificate with restaurants.com

Always call the restuarant first to make sure they still accept the cert. I got burned when I presented my cert. after eating and they said they cancelled with restuarant.com the week before.

i've been thinking about getting these to try out some of the local restaurants. can someone confirm for me if these certificates are specifically for 1 restaurant you choose. If the restaurant refuses it, can you exchange the certificate for another restaurant?

#11, the certificates are for a specific restaurant that you choose. If the restaurant drops out of the program, you can contact Restaurant.com customer service, and they will provide you with a site certificate worth $25 to replace the old certificate.

I've found these restaurants.com coupons to be pretty difficult to use.

You should definitely read the fine print with each certificate before you buy. Some places make it difficult to use, for example can only be used Monday-Thursday with the purchase of 4 entrees. As long as you can live with the conditions, it shouldn't be a problem to get a deal.

Has anyone seen resturants.com go past 80%? should i wait?
I think 80% is rock bottom. I have used these coupons 3x in the last 2 weeks. I always wind up spending more money then i planned - but it is good.

I once saw 90% off, but that only happened once in the four years I've been using these certificates, and selection was pretty poor. You'll see mostly 60% off, with an occasional 70% off. If you're looking for a deal on these, 80% is about as good as it gets.

80% is the most I've seen. Just remember to yelp the restaurant before you buy the certificate. Some of these restaurants are here for reasons.

I'm in NYC area and the selection of restaurants is huge. I love these certificates. Makes for a pretty cheap date... ha
