The newly released HF11 further improves upon the HF10/HF100 by upping the recording rate from 17Mbps to 24Mbps, but for the price I think I'd still stick with this HF100.

Great camera, good deal!
Very few people are going to shoot home movies at even 17Mbps, so 24Mps is not deal breaker, i agree.
on Sp mode (7 Mbps) you get over 4 hours on a 16gb card and about 90 minutes out of the included battery, the quality, even at this, is astounding compared to most other tape based cameras.
