I think its a matter of time before GPS will go the way of the mp3 player, ubiquitous and cheap.

I like the Navigon units the best personally. Less cost over the long run as well.

I love them, they save a lot in frustration. Have a TomTom and would buy it again any day.

My favorite is it has a glitch where it turns itself on and starts give directions every once and awhile, scares my wife and gives me a huge laugh.

I have TOMTOM 4.3 which works pretty good, the only issue I have is that it keeps recalculating whenever I go to NYC as the streeets are close to each other.

#5, go with the TomTom. I have one; couldn't be happier. The Garmin's and Magellen's are better for grandma but all of the little things and customizations you can do with this I prefer.

And with TomTom's latest map guarantee, you can download the newest map for free within 30 days of purchase -- that way you don't have to worry about it being a refurb, you know you're getting the latest map. With TomTom home, you can download startup/shutdown screens, new maps, share map corrections with others, download new voices (many free), etc.
