It's too bad it doesn't come with a bigger SD card. 32MB? Really?? sheesh...for $200 you should at lest get 512MB.

Yea, the 32MB is just the standard card all these Canon's come with. The IS is definitely a boost and at $209 its a steal.

The camera companies probably would rather keep the price of the camera low since they figure that you'll buy your own SD card suiting your own needs (g, not everyone needs a 16GB SD card) or may already own a few SD cards. The tiny 32MB cards are just so that you can test out the camera to make sure it works.

Atleast they stepped up to the 32MB SD card instead of the older bullshit 16MB. I can't even fit small test map of the custom Garmin mapset from www.malsingmaps.com onto a 16MB as their mapset is around 22MB.

If you need a camera, this is the one to buy. It's amazing for the price.

I have the sd1000. I don't know how this one is but mines picture quality was subpar. I won't buy a SD model any more.
next one will be an IS. I know that IS has the best quality in the market, but it will cost you about twice as more. Worth it

sd790 for $40 cheaper if you read above. Sure this has a few more features but are they $40 worth?

Yes, the 28mm lens alone is worth the extra $40 dollars.

depending on the conditions, this thing takes better pictures than my dSLR. it is a great camera.

    Code just worked for me.

I have an earlier version of this same camera, and am buying this deal based on that experience. Great series of cameras. Will never replace SLR, but great camera for slipping in a pocket for unplanned shots.

All the Canon compacts are very good. But this 880IS is the one to get IMO. Better controls than the others, a bigger screen and a nice 28mm wide end.
