Anyone know about the quality of these speakers? Seems like it costs a lot but if they were really good, I would consider purchasing them.

very good speaker and also cheaper by 100 bucks as they normally sell for about 199 each. This is assuming u got the space for them.

I have the RTi10 speakers. GREAT sounding speakers!! The RTi8's were a little bright sounding for my liking, and the RTi12's had a little too much bass - especially when matched with a sub. I use mine mainly for movie watching/ surround sound purposes. Hope this helps.

I own a pair of RTi12 and those speakers are awesome. It has 2 mid ranges and 3 woofers. They're discontinued now and have been replaced with the A9. Got my RTi12 for 300 each a year ago when Frys start to switch over to the A9. I got the 5yrs warranty so whenever my speakers broke, just come in and they'll have to replace them with the A9

Polk has been making great components for many years

The RTi series speakers have recently been discontinued and replaced with the RTiA series. The equivalent for this speaker is the RTi A5. They have basically the same drivers and tweeters but an updated cabinet. These are good speakers but not the best that Polk has to offer. The best speaker series from Polk is the LSi series. Do not jump on the LSi speakers unless you have an external amp since they are 4 Ohm speakers.

The RTi/RtiA speakers are considered great home theater speakers. A lot of people enjoy them for music as well. They are a very detailed speaker. The complaint that music listeners have with these speakers is that they consider them bright (sometimes resulting in ear fatigue) and they don't image as well. In contrast the LSi speakers have better imaging and a warmer sound. Some hard rock listeners prefer the brighter sound of the RTi series speakers compared to the layed back sound of the LSi's.

These are nice speakers but the audio world offers so many brands to choose from that it's difficult to say if these speakers are right for any particular speaker. For HT, you will find them hard to beat. For music, there are better options out there. The best judge is your own ears. Do your research as well.

There is a recent thread at Club Polk comparing the monitor line and the RTi speakers. Of course everyone likes the Rti's better but there is a debate between which is the best speaker in the RTi line. Do a search for other comparisons as well. This topic has been discussed quite a bit on Club Polk.

#7, thanks. Ever since January when I saw the R50's on sale here I have become a Polk whore. I still have them but have since moved on up the line. I have RTi6's and LSi9's. The RTi's are paired with a CSi5 center channel and the FXi3 rears. They are used for HT. I have the LSi9's for music. Since January I have been spending too much time on Club Polk. It is a wonderful community. There are many helpful people. Although some would say that Polk has gone too mainstream and there are better companies out there today, I still like them. Their customer service is excellent.

To any who buy these, get a great sub and enjoy them. Also, avoid upgraditis!

I have a set in Infinity and they sounded much better than the Polk's in the store. I think that Polk makes great tweets, but their mids are not the best.
