I've got the "little brother" version of this: the SD770IS. Definitely a great point-and-shoot especially at this price since it includes all the bells and whistles (Optical IS, 10MP, face detection, etc) of higher-end models.

this is a great price for this camera. And as with all canon cameras you can't go wrong. they make the best.

This camera was rated "Very Good" by CNET, and it ranks as one of the best 10-MegaPixel digital cameras. It offers excellent photo quality, but there have been some performance issues, such as the lack of optical zoom in movie mode. But this is a great price for a very good camera.

Step up to the 870 for the wide-angle lens. That's the only issue I have with this model.

Costco has the same camera for $179 and it includes a free 2GB card.

What is so good about this camera?

I love my SD800 IS. I think I'm going to buy one of these for my parents for Christmas. Looks like Amazon may be just as good a deal ($185) if Dell charges you sales tax. Not to mention that they are throwing in a 4GB card if you order by 11/22.

they are getting cheaper and cheaper...

i like this one except for the lack of manual control
