Overpriced, you can easily get an equally nice Sharp or Samsung for much less than this.

Not only over priced but easily comparable to some of the Sharp, Samsungs and some Panasonics. We purchased this television last year and had several problemd with the audio. The internal speakers are at the bottom of the unit and then there is this some what cheaply made plastic that covers them. Everytime that we turned the televsion volume up above a whisper the speakers would rattle the plastic or the sound was very distorted. Sony verified that this was a problem and paid to have a technician come to the house to try to repair it on three seperate occaisions. After no success we finally returned it to Sony and they sent us a new set but Sony quality is not what it was 10-15 years ago when they were selling the WEGA and Trinitron models.

this thing needs to be at most $1000.00 to even consider it.

this is not a great deal for a LCD television, but i disagree about Sony not being a great brand. Less than stellar sound quality is a problem that is experienced by almost every LCD television. If you want a truly cinematic experience invest in a stereo receiver, a nice powered sub and some speakers. You can probably set that up for less than $250. Television makers seem to be focused on improving visual performance and I'm okay with that personally.

    The W model is a 120Hz. The V model is NOT (60Hz)!

Buying TV could not just simply based on the figures (like contrast ratio, resolution). You need to see the PICTURE. Samsung is good brand, but I feel like SONY is still giving a better PICTURE with same figures.
