Ben listed the OCZ OCZ2N800SR4GK 4GB PC2-6400 $27 after rebate. $8 more dollars and get 4GB.

Why do they waste money to make low memory sticks? The current standard should be @tlease 2x 2gbs, right? People are putting either 2x 2gb or 4x 2gbs in their system now.

My ASUS motherboardS have a lot of compatibility issue with this memory. Check the reviews first.

This is a PC2-8500 memory it is supposed to run at 1066 Mhz. However the reviews are horrible.

I also read a reply to a bad review for the OCZ Reaper 2x1GB RAM deal that was posted a few days ago on Newegg. The reply from the manufacturer said that they only gurantee the clock speeds / timings for a single pair of these rams. That means they may not work at the advertised speed if you slam 4 of these to my motherboad. This is complete BS.

I have ASUS P5K-E w/ wifi with this exact RAM and works flawlessly. Very stable in my OC'ed system - E6550 2.33GHz stock to 3.33GHz OC'ed. No crashes and very reliable.

I bought the Corsair Dominator XMS2 first and couldn't even get it past 3GHz w/o crashing even with playing with voltage and configurations. So replaced it with Ballistix and was able to push it to 3.5Ghz, but started crapping out.

I bought 2 more so now, I'm running four of these Ballistix sticks for 4GB with no problems.

So...I don't know about any problems. Most of the 'problems' are ID10T problems because people don't know how to fix their configurations. Example, not increasing VCore and RAM Voltage when OC'ing.

If you read more professional reviews like Tom's Hardware, Overclock3d, Bjorn3D (as opposed to newegg where people don't know how to config their systems post bad comments), they actually rated the Ballistix as one of the best RAM sticks in terms of reliability and performance.

So do you proper research and not rely on consumer complaints.

I agree with #8. I have a ASUS P5K deluxe board. I have 4GB of the TRACER (Ooooo look at the pretty lights) version and have not had any problems at all.

Dang, $4! it's a shame they're only 1GB sticks. When can we get some 2GB sticks for $8

Oh my, I just sold my 2x1gb ddr2 800 corsair sticks on ebay the other day for $25!

#11 - The same reason you can buy a 17" LCD for $99 but a 30" LCD is not $99*2.

It seems pretty obvious that they are clearing these out due to the bad reviews. I think it's worth the risk for $4, but be prepared for them to fail.

The good thing is they have a LifeTime warranty.

I've had good luck with my previous Crucial RAM. For these...there are lots of bad bad reviews so I guess I wouldn't put them in a mission critical workstation.

But for $4....I got me one.

$4!? But that is only after rebate. So many bad reviews about it, so I'm not going to buy it.

i second #6's concern. I had to RMA two sticks of these in my current system, they have a very high failure rate. Just be warned. They do have a lifetime warranty, but read the reviews first.

I have a pair of these and both of them were DOA. Definitely messed up my day lol. There was a deal on 4gb OCZ for $30 somewhere?
