I don't think anything beats a blade, but I do own this, and a Norelco rotary. This is better for detail shaving (g if you have a goatee, or getting under your sideburns). Not as effective as the rotary under the chin and along the jawline though, at least for me.

i am with #1 - nothing beats a blade. every electric that i have used is like using an orbital sander to get the beard off. a lot like the realtionship with my second wife -- painful, time consuming, and u lose half your stuff in the process.

I also agree with #1, grow a pair and learn how to use a blade...she will appreciate the time you take to get it right.

Blades are more expensive though. I do prefer it, but you know. 20$ rotary + trimmer vs 20$/month in blades. (I'd go through a pack of quattros a month, if I don't shave daily I look like the guy from home improvement - 3 days from smooth to beard).

Overheard on the train:

man#1: Woe is me. My wife divorced me and took half my assets.
man#2: Much worse for me, my stocks also devalued by 50% and I've still got my wife.

I use both. I trim around my beard with the electic then use my mach razor in the shower.

This thing kinda sucks at shaving the neck area, so I typically end up using almost a full charge trying to get everything. I quit using the self-cleaning recharger and just use liquid soap instead. The detergent smells kinda funky.

Nothing beats a good old fashioned razor and shaving cream. Who in the heck spends $20 a month on blades? Chewbaka? (not sure if I spelled that correctly)

#9 ended up shaving in places that are located no where near his face

The economy of the electric is great, works for work. For dates the blade gives better smooveness. Norelco 6735x is what I use.

Charge capacity is pretty weak. I get 3 uses before I need to plug it back in. But it does give a reasonable shave (for an electric)
