Both of you are overly optimistic. I am 0 for 3 on these things. The longest time one has worked was 1 day. They do a great job for providing power, but all data is skewed. Constant Windows message of "unrecognized device". Invest a few more bucks and get a Dlink instead.

if you are going to get a USB powered hub, buy brand name. this cheapo stuff is garbage.

yeah, it's really bright as hell... I happened to get this same one at some other shop a while ago... I keep it under my desk and it lights up the whole area.. crazy. I will say this though, I have used it for a couple years and it hasn't broken yet... if you do get it you'll have to keep it under something though because of the LED light it casts..

I bought one last week and I think it is only USB 1.1 as well because my laptop didn't recognize the printer that was attached to it. Oh well...
