Why have this when you can just put a polished hunk of scrap aluminum in your pocket?
Based on the Apple tradition, that'd be even sleeker, even fewer features, and even easier to scratch. No way to replace a battery either so it's like the ultimate in iMP3 players.

Useless. Seriously. Even apple diehards have to question why the shuffle exists.

You can do so much better than this.

C'mon guys - these things are great. Use a smart playlist, load it up with favories and enjoy the music for hours. No muss, no fuss.

My daughter has a nano and a shuffle. The shuffle has not moved from her desk in a year-useless.

Great little player. Best for working out, riding, mowing the lawn, or other tasks where you just want to listen to whatever is on. I made a 'shuffle' playlist on itunes and sync it with that. Easy to operate without looking at it, weighs next to nothing and clips to almost anything. Don't let the know it all haters steer you wrong.

If you jog, it's useful. Other than that, it's not really. I hate apple, but I still bought a shuffle because nothing else seems to come close to the size.

Looks like CompUSA is offering $1.99 shipping if you order before November 27. That makes this $32 shipped.
This unit is also sold at the Apple Store for $39 shipped, but the extra $2 (now $7) gets you a one year warranty, and new earbuds.
CompUSA's price for extended warranty (through CompUSA) is $14. Apple warranty is probably better.
This unit is good for exercise, walking around, or mowing the lawn. If you don't do any of those things, then you're not the target audience.

I have one, and I like it a lot. It's super simple, but it does the job, while looking pretty nice...

Yeah, good for working out when you just need high-energy background noise. This is not meant to be a full-featured mp3 player guys....

My real complaint about these is the lack of display- you can get something with a display for about the same price. It will be bigger, but displays need more space. I'm not talking color screen suitable for movies, I mean suitable for changing songs/playlists, etc. With this one you're pretty much tethered to the computer and/or your playlists. Very small and light, but a lot of people work out with their Nanos and don't seem to mind that, and what I'm talking about is smaller/lighter than a Nano.
But whatever floats your boat. I'm not an apple hater, I'm just not a big fan.

These are smaller even than the picture makes them seem.
