White Label 640GB SATA Hard DriveGoHardDrive.com has the White Label 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive for $65 - $5 code 5OFF640GB + $0 shipping = $60 shipped. It uses a new 2x320GB platter design. They hint that it is similar to the Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS (which probably means it IS that drive).

NO. "White Label" could mean anything from "New Pulls" to old stock and everything in between. These are drives that are manufactured for company's like HP, Dell, Compaq, ect. to install in their systems. Sometimes, the overage is sold to get rid of excess stock. The problem with this is that the warranty is provided by who's computer (company) it's installed in. This is why they're only warrantied for 1yr. NewEgg has the "Real" drive for $70.00 with a 3yr warranty and free shipping. $5.00 more per year for the extra 2yrs, that's a no brainer.

Its an OK deal, if you don't mind a WD.

I would pay a little more for non-white label.

If it is the WD6400AAKS, that's a quality drive. I guess it depends on if you're willing to bet on that.

I would have trust issues with that site and "label"

I would spend the money on a brand that you can trust... no white label garbage or even WD.
